2021 redesign

A relaunch at banking scale.

I led product UX for the relaunch of Raiffeisen’s digital banking platform, serving 16.6 million customers. The challenge was to make everyday banking clearer across mobile and web while retaining the features customers relied on.

The experience had to work for people at very different stages of life, from opening a first account to managing finances in retirement. Raiffeisen’s regional structure also meant balancing priorities across local stakeholders.

My contribution

  • Coordinated four designers across mobile and web.
  • Represented UX in leadership steering committees, aligning design, technology and compliance.
  • Acted as the bank’s central design contact for Mein ELBA and the Mein ELBA app, with responsibility for correct design implementation.

Moving between products.

Customers often manage several banking products, from everyday accounts to savings, loans and investments. The redesign introduced a product switch at the top of each main page so customers could move between products from a consistent place.

Each card brings the product name, balance and key details together. The intent was to make switching products more straightforward without losing the information people need to manage their money.

Aligning stakeholders.

Mein ELBA and the Mein ELBA app are shared applications across the Austrian Raiffeisen banking group. I acted as the central design contact for Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien, bringing the bank’s perspective into the development of the shared banking experience.

In leadership steering committees, I represented UX and worked across design, technology and compliance to align stakeholder priorities with the needs of the mobile and web experience.

From concept to implementation.

I independently developed and refined UI/UX concepts, informed by competitor analysis and current digital design practices. My responsibility continued into implementation: supporting delivery and ensuring the designs were correctly implemented from the bank’s perspective.

Alongside online banking, my wider role covered design concepts and implementation support for the bank’s website, webshop and online application journeys.

Across the experience.

The product cards carry through to transaction and investment views. The screens below show the wider redesign, including documents, self-service and a mobile account view.
